Blend & Defend: 3 Delicious Immunity-Boosting Drink Recipes For the Winter Season

We can all agree that while winter is beautiful, it can be a challenge to our immune system. At The AU Wellness Company, we believe that health is wealth, so we’re sharing our three favorite immunity-boosting juice or smoothie recipes.


1. Citrus Ginger Immunity Booster

   - 2 oranges, peeled

   - 1 lemon, peeled

   - 1-inch piece of fresh ginger

   - 1 tablespoon raw local honey

   - Pinch of turmeric

   - 1/4 cup of water

Aim for certified, organic when possible. Simply blend all ingredients until smooth. The vitamin C from citrus fruits, the anti-inflammatory properties of ginger and turmeric, plus the antibacterial benefits of honey make this a powerful immune support drink.

2. Berry-Greens Defender Smoothie

   - 1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)

   - 2 handfuls fresh spinach

   - 1/2 banana

   - 1 tablespoon chia seeds

   - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

   - 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

   -  ¼ cup of water


Soak the chia seeds in water for 5 minutes for them to expand. Blend everything until smooth. The antioxidants from the berries, iron from spinach, and probiotics from yogurt help strengthen immune function. To make it frothy use a frozen banana. 

3. Tropical Vitamin C Blast

   - 1 cup pineapple chunks

   - 1 kiwi, peeled

   - 1/2 papaya, peeled and seeded

   - Juice of 1 lime

   - 1 tablespoon coconut water

   - Small handful of mint leaves

Blend all ingredients until smooth. This combination provides a mega dose of vitamin C, enzymes, and antioxidants to support immune health.
